My name is Clare. I was sitting watching television with my sister Karen the other night. We were watching a show on how kangaroos live in the wild. A commercial came on about low cost life insurance. It said that if a person went to a certain site online that person could compare quotes from different companies. I was about to change the channel, but Karen said “Have you ever thought about getting low cost life insurance?”

“I don’t know,” I told her. “It never really occurred to me. Do you know what company has low cost life insurance?”

“I think we should do some research on it, after the show is over. After all, you are getting married soon, and starting a new family. Don’t you think it would be good to have life insurance, and for your husband to have it too?”

My sister was always quite sensible, and also a bit practical, and I had to admit she had a point.

“Okay,” I said. “I will start looking for low cost life insurance. Right after we find out about how kangaroos mate in the wild.”

So we continued to watch the show, and found out many interesting facts about kangaroos and wallabies that lived in Australia. After a while, the show was over, and a show about wild yaks went on.

“Shall we go look for low cost life insurance now?” asked my sister.

“No,” I said. “This is too interesting. I love the animal channel.”

So we spent the next hour learning about yaks. They were big shaggy animals with horns that lived in the mountains. We learned that there were many different kinds of yaks. Finally the show was over. Then a new show went on. This one was about giraffes.

“Shall we go look for low cost life insurance now?” asked my sister.

“No,” I said. “I want to learn about giraffes.”

So we watched the show about giraffes. We learned that male giraffes use their horns to fight for females, and that they have very long purple tongues. Finally the show was over. Then a new show went on. It was about aardvarks.

“Shall we go look for low cost life insurance now?” asked my sister.

“No.” I said. “I want to learn about aardvarks.” We learned that aardvarks have long claws and eat ants. Finally the show was over. Then an new show went on. It was about squirrels.

“Shall we go look for low cost life insurance now?” asked my sister.

“Ok. “ I said. “Squirrels are boring.” Then we turned off the television and left.
