Your views on finance

I think that most of us today don't have enough insurance coverage. I receive a lot of email giving me general information about insurance and why I should be with their particular company all the time. There is one company that I am with and I have decided to rethink my policy. I believe that I bought my policy in ignorance, not understanding everything there is to know about insurance. I honestly thought that all policies were the same. I never knew that there is a big difference between whole life and term life. I think that most of us today tend to buy into companies giving good products but we don't research enough to know just how they work. Let me share with you what I found out.

Term life insurance is basically like a 20 year policy. At the end of that time the term life insurance runs out and you basically have to start all over again. It's almost like leasing a house. When the lease runs out you can only stay there if you start all over again. While a term life insurance policy may be good for most it is not enough for me. My family has a long life line, we usually don't pass until well beyond 70 or 80. My great grand mother did not die until she was 105. My grand mother was 80 and only died because of health complications. I am a 55 year old very healthy woman with no health issues. I intend on being on this planet for at least another 65 years which means that a term life insurance policy for me is a waste of money. Don't get me wrong, for most people it is a very good policy but I am too young to invest in this now so the policy that I do have I believe that I am going to cancel. I have had the policy for a year now and am going to try and stay with the same company; I just want the policy to be switched over to whole life. Term life is only good if I die within the term period and I know that I will out live it. Which means that if I get terminally ill during the course of the policy and it runs out I am at a loss with no policy and no one will give a policy to the dying. A whole life policy is what I now seek, something that will cover me til the day I die.
