Working for an online motor trade insurance broker, I am there to take the telephone calls when people who are not sure what they are doing online and for those people who do not feel safe putting in payment details.
Our company is based in the uk, and is now one of the busiest purely because of where we are based. We have found customers returning year after year purely because they can speak to somebody who is not on the other side of the world.
As a motor trade insurance broker, we have access to lots of different insurance companies to try to get the best deal for the individual depending on their own circumstances. I enjoy my job and look forward to the different queries.
Some people will try to get cheaper deals by telling us that they have had another quote cheaper, but when they tell me who the quote was from, I have access to that company and they do not realise it. Most people think we deal with one company and don't understand what broker means.
I always explain that as a motor trade insurance broker, I have access to most of the insurance companies and can usually give the best quote possible to them. of course, I work on a commission basis and every time somebody takes out insurance with me, I get my bonus. Everybody wants to save money and I always tell my customers if they don't feel comfortable with the quote then to look elsewhere first, I give my direct number out and most call me back.
That doesn't mean that I give false information to gain the sale, I believe that if I rang up I would want somebody to be honest with me and I try to be as honest as I can. I feel that my customers come back to me once I have given a quote because I have given honest advice and you can guarantee five out of ten people will always go away and try to get a quote somewhere else, then come back as I was cheaper.
When you tell somebody you work as a motor trade insurance broker you get the usual, 'can you save me some money' but I only give out the company details and tell them to contact me during work hours. I like to keep work and play very seperate otherwise I will become a very boring person talking about insurance all of the time.
